The Textile Arts Council arranged a study tour with author Mary Schoeser in Suffolk from the 9-11 October 2012. The tour included lectures by Mary Schoeser as well as visits to a number of textile businesses in the area, including the silk weaving factories in Sudbury. We were honoured to be asked to allow the group to tour the studio on the Wednesday and give them information on what being a textile conservator involves.
We were able to show them silk wall hangings were were working on from Ham House (see Wallhangings at Ham House under Our Work for more information).
It was lovely to talk to such an enthusiastic group of people.
