May Berkouwer

Textile Conservator

May trained in Amsterdam and moved to England in 1984 to work as a textile conservator for the National Trust.  Following three years at Ksynia Marko’s Textile Conservation Studio in London, May went independent in 1992 and set up a studio in Sudbury in 1996. An Accredited Conservator-Restorer, May is also an Assessor for PACR and continues to practice alongside her team.

Anna Peck

Anna trained at De Montfort University, Lincoln 1995-1998, completing a BA(Hons) degree in Conservation & Restoration.  After working as an Object Conservator Anna joined The National Trust’s Textile Conservation Studio for the 2-year Levy Internship and continued working for them for two years thereafter.  Anna then paused her career to bring up her family.  Joining May Berkouwer Textile Conservation in 2013, Anna primarily conserves tapestries and is working towards her PACR.

Claire Walker

PA / Office Manager

ClaireColour

An experienced Secretary and Office Manager, Claire works as May’s PA as well as dealing with all aspects of day-to-day office life.  Claire joined the Studio in November 2016, bringing with her a wealth of expertise gained from a variety of different posts.  Outside of the Studio, Claire enjoys spending time with her family and friends, walking Barnaby-the-Westie, reading and supporting her local community.
